The Tahivilla wind farm at Tarifa (Cádiz province) will go from 98 old wind turbines to 13 Nordex machines.
ACCIONA Energía has successfully completed the repowering and is finalizing the commissioning of the Tahivilla wind farm. The project will consist of the replacement of the present turbines for more modern and efficient models, optimizing their operation and increasing their capacity to generate clean energy.
The replacement of the old wind turbines with latest-generation models will mean an increase in capacity from 78.4 MW to 84.4 MW, with the wind farm’s evacuation capacity remaining the same.
Once it has been repowered, the wind farm’s production will increase by 74%, going from clean electricity equivalent to the demand from 42,000 Spanish households to a level able to cover the energy avoiding the emission of 108,000 tonnes of CO2 to the atmosphere every year in the process.
Dismantling of the old wind turbines started followed by the installation of the new machines. Their entry into service is planned soon. The wind farm will thus go from 98 wind turbines to 13 more efficient machines.
