In a dual submission with Safetrac, our online training module was announced a Platinum winner for Best Learning & Development Project in two categories: Health & Safety Training and Compliance Training.
Open to public-service sectors world-wide, these awards acknowledge and recognise organisations that have implemented a project that demonstrates innovation and continued improvement to the learning, development and management of staff.
ACCIONA’s online training module was rolled out in October 2019 to blue-collar staff and, almost a year on, the completion rate stands at 95% - proof positive of the module’s success.
Carolyn Vo, ACCIONA’s Learning & Development Senior Specialist and key project lead, said the implementation of an engaging module has been pivotal in maintaining a high completion rate.
“This was a team effort, as we collaborated with various key stakeholders to ensure we created something that would not only address any knowledge gaps, but in a compelling and innovative way.
“By working with our Operations Managers, Marketing, HR and HSEQS teams, we were able to develop and finesse a final product that has been well received by our crews.
Harnessing online technology has never been more important, particularly for keeping a remote workforce informed.
“We’ll use the specialised skills from this project and continue creating engaging online content as we transition away from face-to-face training sessions,” said Carolyn.
ACCIONA’s Group HR & Payroll Operations Manager, Vicki McKenzie, said the success behind the program is driven by its simplicity and efficiency.
“The team focused on making a simple, quick and effective tool that allowed our frontline workers to easily access, understand and know they must comply with the information being presented.
“This gives the company assurance that they are equipped with this knowledge when working on some of ACCIONA’s amazing projects.”
Given the success of this project and ACCIONA’s extensive pipeline of work, there will be plenty of opportunities to roll out the program to the contractor workforce and on JV/Alliance projects.
