ACCIONA’s project Dubai Metro Route 2020, chosen as ‘Sustainable Construction Project of the Year’ in the Big 5 Construction Impact Awards

The Big 5 Construction Impact Awards has recognized ACCIONA and Gulermak JV’s project, Dubai Metro Route 2020 as “Sustainable Construction Project of the Year” in the awards ceremony at The Big 5, on 5 December 2022 at Dubai World Trade Centre - Dubai, UAE.  

These awards recognize sustainable development, technological and digital achievements in the construction industry. The second year of the coveted annual awards drew hundreds of entries from construction businesses from across 20 countries, with 18 winners selected by an international, independent judging panel.

ACCIONA obtained last year the highest global qualification for sustainability in construction for the Dubai Metro “Route 2020”, making the new extension of the Dubai transit system the largest Gold LEED certified transport project in the world.

The company was awarded for this project by the RTA as best “Sustainable Design Award” and last year, it was also recognized at The Big 5 Construction Impact Awards as “Innovative Construction Organization of the year 2021” and “Sustainable Construction Organization of the year 2021”.
