About the Project

This role supports the delivery of critical Defence infrastructure as part of ACCIONA’s expanding Defence portfolio. The project plays a key role in strengthening Australia’s Defence capability and is delivered in a highly regulated environment with strict quality, safety and compliance standards.

The site is based in Katherine, a vibrant regional town approximately three hours south of Darwin, offering a unique lifestyle experience while working on nationally significant infrastructure.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our Defence project team based in Katherine. This is an on‑site role supporting day‑to‑day construction activities, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance and program delivery.

You’ll be part of a close‑knit project team working and living together in a supportive environment while delivering critical infrastructure outcomes.

Key accountabilities

  • Support construction delivery activities on site in line with program, safety and quality requirements
  • Assist with subcontractor coordination, site inspections and daily reporting
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and compliance processes in a Defence environment
  • Support planning, sequencing and progress tracking of works
  • Contribute to risk management and issue resolution on site
  • Work collaboratively with project teams in a high‑compliance, high‑performance environment

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in a Site Engineer or similar role on infrastructure or building projects with experience on civil and structural scopes (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of site‑based construction delivery, quality and safety systems
  • Ability to relocate for several months and be based on site in Tindal, N.T (3 hours south of Darwin) After completion you will join a project team in Adelaide.
  • Strong communication skills and a team‑focused mindset

  • Due to Project requirements, you will need Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance
