ACCIONA Community Sponsorship Program Ready to Roll

  • Gunning wind farm Site Manager Craig Simon has today announced the winners of the 2016 Gunning wind farm Community Sponsorship Program.
  • Mr Simon said "ACCIONA is committed to supporting the local community around our Gunning wind farm.

"There’s some fantastic projects in today’s announcement like the purchasing of new kitchen facilities for Gunning Public School, supporting the Goulburn Great Divide, and we’re delighted to be supporting the Gunning Show once again this year.

"ACCIONA has now provided more than $60,000 to local community and sporting groups in the Gunning, Goulburn and Crookwell communities since 2011.

"ACCIONA congratulates the successful applicants and thanks all of the organisations for sharing their fantastic projects with us."

The Goulburn Great Divide was established 3 years ago to replace the loss of the historic Goulburn to City cycle race. 

Goulburn Cycle President Adam Lambert said "we have successfully hosted the Goulburn Junior Tour, and the State and National Masters Championships on the same course for over 10 years. The development of a major race for senior cyclists seemed to be a logical progression for the club.

"We would love the race to become as iconic as the Goulburn to City and the sponsorship from ACCIONA Energy will greatly assist in its development as a major race on the NSW Cycling calendar."

Goulburn Elite Team Captain Andy Cartwright was delighted with ACCIONA Energy joining as the major sponsor. "It is great that an international company with a major local interest wants to support the community and become involved in our event. Hopefully this is the start of a long relationship and with a bit of luck a Goulburn rider will take out the ACCIONA Gunning Wind Farm Goulburn Great Divide," said Mr Cartwright.
