This volunteer program is part of the social management in which the ACCIONA team participates with both plants and is carried out in coordination with the Municipality of Al Wakrah.

The impacts of mismanaged plastic waste on the climate, as well as on livelihoods and ecosystems, are an urgent development challenge. Cleaning up beaches has a visible impact on preserving our environment and these kinds of activities highlight ACCIONA’s commitment to corporate social responsibility in the community,” said Guillermo Hijós, O&M Desalination Middle East and Oceania Director for the water business of ACCIONA.

ACCIONA supports a sustainable business model that seeks economic growth, social progress and environmental balance with the goal of improving the lives of present and future generations.

To achieve this, we design solutions that address the major global challenges facing humanity: decarbonisation of the energy system, the climate emergency, water and sanitation shortages, the need for resilient infrastructures, and innovation and the development of more sustainable cities.
