ACCIONA in Australia

ACCIONA has invested more than A$650 million in our Australian operations since 2002 and employed more than 500 people across the country. Renewable energy, infrastructure and water projects are planned over the next four years which will contribute to Australia’s development and build on our achievements to date.

ACCIONA has built and owns three wind farms in Australia, one through a joint venture, and has developed a strong pipeline of projects for construction. The wind farms at Waubra in Victoria, Gunning in New South Wales and Cathedral Rocks in South Australia produce 304.5MW of green energy, equivalent to the energy needs of 205,000 households. ACCIONA is also providing engineering, construction and operational services on the 20MW Royalla solar project near Canberra.

In addition to the landmark Legacy Way transport project in Brisbane, Queensland, Acciona is also currently delivering The Warrell Creek to Nambucca Pacific highway project in NSW in Joint Venture with Ferrovial and the Pumicestone road project on the Bruce Highway in Brisbane. It is also part of a consortium that has started work on the CBD and South East Light Rail project in Sydney, with several teams working on various bids in QLD, NSW, VIC and WA.

In South Australia, ACCIONA is a 50% participant of the joint venture operating the Adelaide Desalination Plant (300 MLD) for SA Water. ACCIONA is also a participant in the Joint Venture Helena Water and ATJV that is responsible for the finance, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Mundaring Water Treatment Plant (165MLD) project near Perth.
