  • Evolve Bayswater Alliance (Coleman Rail) has been awarded the contract to design and build METRONET’s new Bayswater Station project.

As well as designing and building a new four-platform (two-island) station and all associated track, signalling, civil, drainage and overhead line works, the Evolve Bayswater Alliance will build a rail turnback to service  the Forrestfield-Airport Link, a new higher bridge at King William Street/Coode Street and make provision to support the Morley-Ellenbrook Line connection.

The first island platform (with a track on each side) will be built while the current line and station continues operation, ensuring impacts to commuters and the local community will be minimised.

Trains will begin using the new platforms once they are completed, which will allow the old station to be removed and a second island platform to be built to accommodate the Morley-Ellenbrook Line.

The METRONET project will transform Bayswater into a major transport hub linking the Midland Line to the future Forrestfield-Airport Link and Morley-Ellenbrook Line. Also included in the project is integrated pedestrian and cyclist access into the station and Bayswater town centre.

Coleman Rail’s General Manager Sean Bonham said the revitalisation of Bayswater was an exciting win for our Western Australian team.

“We look forward to working with the Public Transport Authority and Western Australian subcontractors and suppliers in completing this major infrastructure project. It will bring many safety and amenity benefits to the local community and improved transport options for pedestrian, public transport and road users.”

Works in the Bayswater town centre are expected to start late 2020.
