Funds in the wind for Community Groups from Gunning Wind Farm

A total of eight community groups in the region have shared in this years sponsorship pool of more than 10000.

Community, sport and education groups have benefitted from a funding boost from ACCIONA, the owner and operator of the Gunning Wind Farm.

A total of eight community groups in the region have shared in this year’s sponsorship pool of more than $10,000.  The funding was delivered through ACCIONA’s Gunning Wind Farm community sponsorship program. The sponsorship recipients include:

• Crookwell Show;
• Goulburn High School;
• Goulburn Netball;
• Grabben Gullen Progress Association;
• Grabben Gullen Recreation Hall and Reserve Trust;
• Gunning Focus Group;
• Gunning Public School; and
• Gunning Show.
 

ACCIONA’s Gunning Wind Farm Site Manager Craig Simon said ACCIONA received many good quality sponsorship applications this year.

“ACCIONA takes pride in supporting local communities and we were encouraged to see many good quality applications this year from across the region.”

“The Gunning Wind Farm community sponsorship program is a way of ensuring the benefits of renewable energy projects are spread throughout rural and regional communities,” Mr Simon said.
